Druids
From The World of Shannara
The Druids are an order of people from all Races in the Four Lands who are researchers, historians, counselors, magic-users, and protectors. They were formed with the intention of saving what knowledge was left from the Old World for the betterment of civilizations of this new world. With that knowledge they intended to council and protect the other Races, attempting to bring peace and harmony. A a whole the Order had varying degrees of success with this mission, sometimes due in part to their own actions, at other times due to the lack of receptivity from the Races for their efforts. While fairly successful as protectors of the Races, the means they have embarked on to do that, have often left those they helped bitter and distrustful of the efforts of the Druids.
