Flick Ohmsford is one of the main characters in The Sword of Shannara and adoptive brother to Shea Ohmsford. He comes with his brother on the quest for the Sword of Shannara.

Description

Flick is described as:

“	His broad, windburned face bore a set, placid look, and only the wide gray eyes revealed the restless energy that burned beneath the calm exterior. He was a young man, though his stocky build and the grizzled brown hair and shaggy eyebrows made him look much older. He wore the loose fitting work clothes of the Vale people.	„

Additionally he was "of medium height and heavy build".^[1]

Flick knew more about the hills and land surrounding Shady Vale than most anyone. Flick sold wares to outlaying homesteads for his father, and enjoyed traveling and getting out of the Vale from time to time. Described as pragmatic^[2], Flick is given to complaining about what is going on like his father before him.

Origin and History

Only son born to Curzad Ohmsford, an innkeeper at the only inn in Shady Vale. Flick worked the inn with his father and adopted brother Shea. He was also the son that carried on his father's business of supplying various items that they needed and bringing news of the Vale.
