This site is dedicated to the magical World of Shannara created by Terry Brooks. Beginning with The Sword of Shannara published in 1977, the series continues into the present with the 2008 release of The Gypsy Morph, including 20 titles, many best-sellers. The Sword of Shannara is known to be one of the first fantasy books since The Lord of the Rings to give rise to the fantasy genera and an spark a huge outpouring of further fantasy writing by other authors. The Shannara series is best known for its blend of magic, primitive technology and the fact that it is set on the Earth far into the future after our current civilization has been destroyed. Shannara is not the name of the world itself, but the name of an Elven noble family whose descendants are many of the main protagonists within the series.

This site is dedicated to bringing together the most comprehensive information about the books in the series, the characters, and the world that is known as the Four Lands. All areas of the series and the world will be discussed. We are looking for contributors to flesh out and expand any and all articles within this site. Hopefully over time we will build a strong community.
