Description

Panther is mostly African American, but with other blood mixed in as well.[1] He grew up fast, athletic, and strong, a very quick study and eager to learn things.[2]

Origin and History

Panther was born Anan Kawanda, the youngest of five brothers and sisters. His father was dead before he was born. When Panther asked others what had happened to him, people responded at no one knew. His mother a tough woman part of a group of largely black and Hispanic people who disdained the confines of the compounds living in Presidio Park, in former San Francisco.

Panther played at and was taught survival early on. By the time he was seven years old he could proficiently use all the weapons within the community. By the time he was twelve his older brothers and sisters where already deferring to his superior judgment and skills. He worked hard at being the best.

One day shortly after he had turned fourteen, him and four others had returned from a week long foraging expedition. They found every one in the community had died while they were away. There was no signs of violence. It looked as if they had died quickly, possibly from a plague. Panther searched the camp desperate to find the cause of the percieved sickness that happened. But he found nothing and buried his immediate family, ignoring the protestations of his companions that he was risking his health. After that he said good-bye to those he came back with, gathered what supplies and weapons he could, and started walking north.

Weeks later he arrived in Seattle. He found Hawk and the Ghosts and joined his new family. For the first week afterwards he was willing to talk about what had happened to him in San Francisco. But after that he was never willing to talk about it. Yes Hawk was aware that the pain and the anger where buried inside eating away at him with no effective outlet.[3]
