Timeline
From The World of Shannara
The Timeline is a visual representation of the time frame for the historical events as well as major events of the books from the world of Shannara. Terry Brooks only provides approximations for most dates. Additionally the lack of any serious scholars in the Four Lands outside the Druids, whom exist in singular form for almost all the novels, makes this work an educated guess at best. Where possible phrases from the books themselves will be cited as references. Some liberty may be taken so this timeline will make sense, so use your discretion and research on your own. In some cases assumptions about time must be made since the author does not provide something more specific. If this happens the reasoning behind the assumption will be provided in the reference, as well as the page number of the relavent passages. If you discover more information or anything that contradicts what it here, please add it.

| ~ 1000 | The Races begin to reemerge into a civilization.
Galaphile forms the First Council of the Druids to collect and safeguard the knowledge from the Old World. |
| ~ 1035-1050 | Fed up with the Druid Order, Cogline leaves Paranor.[1] |
| ~ 1050 | Brona and his followers leave Paranor with the Ildatch. [2] |
| ~1200 | Revolt among Men happens that spreads into the First War of the Races. [3] |
| ~1202-1205 | The Races are partitioned into the Four Lands by the Druid Council. [4] |
| ~1480 | The Druids begin to withdraw from the affairs of the Four Lands in favor of private study. [5] |
| ~1550 | The Second War of the Races, events of the First King of Shannara. |
| ~1553 | Paranor is removed from the Four Lands, Allanon becomes the last Druid at age fifteen. |
| ~2050 | The War of the Warlock Lord, events of The Sword of Shannara. |
